I flew out of Eagles Nest Airport back in 1973 with Walt Bartlette. He and I went flying in his C150. No radios no nothing just needle ball and airspeed. Those were the days!!! Manahawkin airport opened a little later and we flew out of NJ42 MHK. Life was good!!! I visited Eaglesnest recently and it is beautiful. Good Luck and God Speed fellas!!

Dangerous, noisy and polluting. The runway is dangerously situated between the Garden State Parkway at one end and dense forest and residences at the other, giving pilots no viable landing options if they can't make the runway. This explains the spate of crashes occurring over the past three years, with pilots landing on a busy roadway or slamming into trees. Skydivers are forced to skim low over the Garden State Parkway in order to make the drop zone, which is situated just a couple hundred feet from the busy GSP roadway. Atlantic City International is a much better option. Skydiving Is also available at the mic larger and more sanely situated Sussex Airport.
